We listen, act and transform

Our practice is guided by the belief that mental and emotional health are essential to living a meaningful life and that therapy is about more than just treating symptoms for the short-term, but rather empowering people to live their best lives. We believe that individuals are the expert in their own lives and our role is help you implement the changes you hope to make.

Hello! I’m Mondie

LISW-S

My name is Mondie Gonzales and I am a licensed independent social worker (LISW-S) in the state of Ohio. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1992 and then a Masters in Social Work in 1999. I have worked with kids and families in a community mental health setting for most of my 30 year career as a mental health professional. I opened a private practice, working with individuals, couples and families 10 years ago. I utilize many different modalities and techniques, depending on your needs and goals. Throughout these experiences I have discovered that the most important aspect of any therapeutic relationship is the relationship! I believe that you are the expert in your own life and my role is to help you implement the changes you are hoping to make.

My goal is to help individuals and families gain or improve their life skills in order to make the best choices for what they want to accomplish. My focus as a practitioner is to help you know what you want, name it and define what it looks like, so that you can live your life in a way that moves you toward that goal. I believe that everything in your life intertwines to create your life story and that we all have control over our destiny. I believe in making informed choices, setting appropriate boundaries, and accepting responsibility.

    Hello! I’m Katharine

    LSW

Before I began my clinical career, I worked as a high school English teacher, and the values of growth, lifelong learning, openness, and authenticity that I developed as an educator have continued into my work as a therapist. It is from those values that I learned I have a passion for working with individuals across the lifespan who are in a state of flux and transition…

You might find that you are experiencing adversity or crisis in multiple life domains and are feeling lost, stuck, even hopeless, in search of the tools to stay afloat. Maybe boredom has crept up and pushed you to pursue change, and you are looking for renewal. Perhaps you and your partner or family are looking to lean in and grow together. Whatever it may be, I celebrate the courage it takes to be a “seeker”; you are so welcome here.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)My Approach & Values

I consider it a privilege to hear and hold the stories of my clients. Showing up authentically in session, whether it evokes pain or joy (maybe both!), is an act of courage and requires a trusting, supportive therapeutic relationship. It is my goal to collaborate with you to build such a rapport and, from that foundation, support you in living as your truest, most fulfilled self.

Some of the modalities I utilize are:

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
    • Mindful Self-Compassion
    • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
    • Family Systems
    • Person-Centered
    • Strengths-Based

    My Experience

    • I have been grateful to have worked in university counseling centers, community mental health agencies, and schools, serving diverse clients from childhood to older adulthood individually, in couple’s work, in family therapy, and in groups over the past 7 years.

    My Education

    • Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish from Case Western Reserve University in 2012
    • Masters of Science in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University in 2019
